Former Sex Crimes Prosecutor Joins Firm — Leah Linger to Focus on Fort Hood and Joint Base San Antonio

Kansas City, Missouri, July 27, 2017 (Newswire) –​​​​​The Law Office of Will M. Helixon announced today that military lawyer and former Special Victim Prosecutor Leah Linger has joined the firm as “Of Counsel.”  Leah will focus on assisting the firm defend military members in courts-martial and civilian criminal trials.  She will also provide military law legal services to clients at Fort Hood and Joint Base San Antonio.  The firm’s military affairs and court-martial defense section represents military clients worldwide, and civilian criminal defense clients in Kansas, Missouri and Texas.

A Wealth of Experience

“Leah brings a depth of experience to our team.  From serving as the Chief of the Federal Litigation Division at Joint Base Lewis McChord, Washington, to trying cases as the Special Victim Prosecutor in Korea, Okinawa and Japan, to representing soldiers as the Chief of Client Services at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, Leah has both a mastery of litigation and counseling of soldiers.  We are fortunate to have her join our team,” said Will M. Helixon, the firm’s founder.

A graduate of Fresno State University, the McGeorge School of Law at the University of the Pacific, and The Judge Advocate General’s School where she received her Master of Laws in military law, Leah is also a combat veteran serving two tours in Iraq.  Leah, the former U.S. Army Judge Advocate Major, joins the Director of Military Affairs, Will M. Helixon, as the firm’s second former Special Victim Prosecutor.  “We are ecstatic to have Leah’s insight and perspective gained from her military experience as a part of our firm,” Helixon said.
