Client Testimonials

“Great results at trial! Will M. Helixon achieved a positive result securing “no punishment” during the sentencing phase of my court-martial. There was no confinement, no reduction in rank, and no forfeitures at a judge alone special court martial, which resulted from the expertise of Mr. Will Helixon! I was facing charges of an assault, kidnapping, communicating a verbal threat, and provoking speeches. I desperately reached out for some legal guidance from civilian lawyers, and I was referred to Will by mutual friends. The very first phone call I had with Will, even before I hired him, he spent over 45 minutes on the phone with me providing great advice. Whether or not I decided to hire him, he was already giving me his sound guidance. He was very knowledgeable, but what struck me was how down to earth and friendly he was from the very first phone call. Of course, I hired him (other attorneys I called did not seem interested nor gave me the time to explain my situation and demanded first class flights and a crazy fee) and along the way I realized what a great decision that was. I am grateful to say that he was able to get the NO punishment result. All along the way (and these things went on for months) he was unbelievably responsive. Every single time I reached out to him, he called me back or texted within minutes at night or day (I would receive emails from him 2am in the morning – he does not sleep). I emailed or texted him countless times with questions and concerns, and he replied back with me back EVERY SINGLE TIME. If you are looking for a relentless, knowledgeable military attorney, you cannot pick a better attorney. Will is an attorney who will always answer your questions, and you will not believe how friendly he is from the very first time you speak with him. He was also able to assure me each step of the way to be patient. Of course, it’s hard going through something like this, but if you have an experienced attorney like Will Helixon on your team, then the process is smoother and less stressful. Although he is highly accomplished, his fee was very reasonable. No other reason to call anyone else, Will is the best for sure. Hands down!!“

“Full acquittal on all charges. I had the pleasure of using the legal expertise of Will M. Helixon, an incredible lawyer who defended me in a court martial case in March 2023. In my case, I was charged with larceny of government funds, fraud, and falsifying documents for Basic Allowance for Housing. From the moment I spoke to him, I knew I was in good hands. His extensive experience and deep understanding of the legal system gave me confidence that he would do everything possible to defend my case. Throughout the entire process, Will was professional, attentive, and compassionate; even on the airplane, he allowed phone conversations with me. He took the time to listen to my wife’s and my side of the story and gathered all the evidence necessary to build a strong defense. Finally, he was ready to travel to meet my wife for a deposition. He was patient and thorough in his explanations of my case’s legal process and potential outcomes. Thanks to his hard work and dedication, Will won my case and cleared my name. His statements were not written however, they were as if he wrote a professional speech. I cannot say anything about Will without saying he’s such a real human and a people person. Very empathetic, I remember one of the deposition travels, he invited me to the business class lounge as his guest and that was my first time I’d been in a business or first-class lounge. I cannot express how grateful I am to have had him by my side during one of the most challenging times of my life. His expertise and guidance were truly invaluable, and I will always be grateful for his help. If you ever find yourself in need of a lawyer, I strongly recommend working with this amazing professional. His vast experience, knowledge, and commitment to his clients, make him an exceptional choice for anyone who needs legal representation. I am so fortunate to have had him on my side and I will always be grateful for everything he did for me.“

“John, I wanted to express my gratitude for your law firm, the Law Office of Will M. Helixon. The only regret I have is that I did not reach out to you sooner. I was about 6 weeks into the 15-6 investigation when I finally decided TDS was not going to assist and the only option was looking into civilian representation. Even though John came into this case halfway in, he quickly was caught up to speed. John was persistent in communicating with everyone and keeping this case at the forefront. I am sure many people got upset that he shined light into their mishandling of the case. This case wrapped up much faster than I think it would have if John wasn’t as persistent as he was. I finally get to go home and see my three children, a year is far too long to be away from them. I cannot thank you enough for all you have done for us John.“

“I want to write this email to express my sincere thanks for the outstanding work John did representing me for my CID investigation. John Caulwell of the Law Office of Will M. Helixon, throughout this whole process was available at any hour to discuss the case and answer questions that I had. John was very prompt with replies, and over communicated times he was not going to be available. John managed to keep me calm and collected during this stressful process. If I had not retained this firms representation, I don’t believe that I would have gotten the same personal attention from TDS. Every dollar I spent retaining this firms services was well spent. I firmly believe that the positive outcome of this case was directly related to John’s work, preparing me to be questioned by CID, and being present during the questioning. Biggest benefit to having a personal lawyer, as opposed to TDS, is that John was not afraid to go directly to the top with questions or to get status updates. John was able to speak to people without having to go through multiple layers of the Chain of Command. Thank you again for everything!“

“John Caulwell, I wanted to reach back out to you and your team as my case is coming to a close. I would say it has had a POSITIVE outcome. First, with all the evidence proving my innocence, my GOMOR was filed LOCALLY. Within a week of the GOMOR filing, my chain of command ‘offered’ me a position in the S3 shop and supports a ‘full cost move’ (PCS). As long as HRC approves it, it will happen! Lastly, with all of that, they decided to change my NCOER from a Relief for Cause to Change of Rater NCOER. They rewrote it and sent that up to HRC as well. I would say this: my career is/was worth fighting for. I know 100% hiring you and the Law Office of Will M. Helixon was the right thing to do and I believe with all my heart it paid off. One, it showed I was serious about my career. Two, your team was able to prove in legal jargon my innocence. I would recommend you and your team to anyone. If I had any regrets, it would be I didn’t hire you right out of the gate before it got to the point it did. But like a doctor, you only see patients when something ‘bad’ is happening. So THANK YOU! Thank you! Thank you! I wish you all the best in the future.“

“I’m a Sergeant First Class and Active Duty Army. I was accused of giving a false report, negligence, and loss of accountability. I hired John Caulwell from the Law Office of Will M. Helixon and within 24 hours and he ensured to get all the details from my situation as well as the context surrounding the circumstances. We maintained constant communication and he ensured to update me on my case as necessary. Ultimately with his assistance I faced no adverse actions. This firm has my highest recommendation when it comes to representation.“

“Will Helixon was my military lawyer during my court-martial in 2005 and his legal expertise and dedication is the sole reason my case ended in a dismissal from service with no jail time served instead of a conviction for premeditated murder facing life imprisonment. There are many brilliant military lawyers available who know the law well, but what makes Mr. Helixon stand out from all of them is his complete involvement and absolute dedication to his client. During my court-martial he was my U.S. Army Trial Defense (TDS) appointed military lawyer, but he provided me with better service and attention than the most high-priced superstar lawyers. Will Helixon is, without a doubt, the reason I was able to continue with my life. Will Helixon exemplifies everything good about our legal system and the reason why I still have faith in said system.“

“Will Helixon is the finest military lawyer I have ever worked with. As the Brigade Judge Advocate in both Italy and Afghanistan, Will prosecuted an incredible amount of cases across a myriad of offenses to include several court martial cases in the combat zone and prevailed in them all. His skills go far beyond his military justice acumen. I relied on his advice and counsel under the most difficult circumstances during a long and arduous combat tour in Afghanistan. Will was a critical part of clearance of fires with literally minutes to evaluate and render his opinion in life or death situations, his counsel was always on the mark. I trust him completely in the most difficult pressure-filled environment imaginable. He was simply brilliant at rapidly assessing the situation and providing advice to me as a commander in the field. There is no better pressure player than Will. I will always be grateful he was by my side. The Army has recognized his tremendous abilities after his tour as a Brigade Judge Advocate by assigning him the most difficult, contentious, and high profile cases in the US Army. Despite enormous pressure he was always true to the military justice system and his sense of what is right never wavered. His integrity is beyond reproach. Will brings incredible passion to his chosen profession. As an acknowledgement of his abilities and passion for the law, Will was selected and certified for the prestigious position of military judge. Finally Will Helixon is a man I would readily trust to take care of my family. I can pay no higher compliment or endorsement.“

“I am the father of one of Mr. Helixon’s clients and I will be forever thankful to have met him in very difficult times. He defended my son brilliantly and as a result, he has been able to go on with his life becoming a successful person, married and waiting for his first child and all of these are thanks to Mr. Helixon. Will conducted a brilliant defense under very difficult circumstances — he kept me up to date as to what was going on in court, but above all he showed us what a wonderful person he was and he is. I am privileged to have met him as a lawyer and as a person. He is the finest lawyer I have ever met. Every night I thank The Lord for him to be my son’s lawyer.“

“I met Mr. Helixon back in 2005 when he was my son’s defense lawyer, and since then I will be forever thankful to the Dear Lord for meeting him in a very difficult time. As a woman and mother, he showed sensitivity, understanding and above all, patience because I was never involved in a situation so difficult. Mr. Helixon is a great litigator and never gives up. God bless him.“
